You can find individual sockets at the hardware store (Home Depot has them here in the U.S.) for relatively cheap. As you can see in the table below, the next size up from most sockets is close enough to the same weight that you can use a single socket set to make a set of beads. Definitely makes for a serviceable set! I still prefer my AO2 Aluminum Titans, but I find that 9mm 1/4-inch-drive sockets on 550 paracord are optimal if going the socket route. This comes to about $8.00 at Lowes or Home Depot. I tried 12mm sockets, but they were WAY too heavy.
